Eric Character Design & Turn Around
“Elementals” - Personal Project
Eric Clyde is a character from a person project and story currently named “Elementals.” The story “Elementals” takes place in a high fantasy setting with alternative advanced technology based on magic and the elements. Eric is “the Storm Elemental” so his design is based on the colors of the storm as well as lightning. For this project, Eric’s original design was reviewed and changed to construct a turnaround.
Inspiration
His character is based on storms and electricity. Inspiration for his outfit and features were taken from high fantasy, Brazil, Taiwan, and Middle East Asia with some androgens features.
Outfit & Color Exploration
Outfits were sketched with inspirations from different cultures or high fantasy. Value and tints of color were also explored to construct two base reference images for the final turnaround.
Final Output
After review and critique, a final look was chosen and two rendered turnarounds with flat color were made displaying the full outfit as well as a unlayered outfit.
